About me

  • I am associate professor in internal medicine and geriatrician at the University Hospital of Ferrara (Italy).

I graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Padua (Italy) in 2012, then I specialized in Gerontology and Geriatrics in 2018 and obtained a PhD degree in Clinical and Experimental Sciences at the same university.

As a Geriatrician, I have developed skills in the clinical management of older patients with acute and chronic disorders, both in the hospital and community settings. At the same time, I had the opportunity to improve my skills in the research field by collaborating in the coordination and conduction of observational or intervention studies, and by conducting projects on aging epidemiology, from the design to the data analysis and interpretation.

Research

  • I work in the field of aging epidemiology. My specific areas of interest are: accidental falls, sarcopenia, and frailty in older age.

Teaching

  • As an assistant professor at the University of Ferrara (2021-2024) and now associate professor, I am actively involved in the teaching activities for the university courses of Medicine and Surgery (Geriatrics classes), Nursing (Geriatrics and Internal Medicine classes), post-graduate courses (Community Nursing), residency programmes in Geriatrics of the University of Ferrara and Padua (Epidemiology and applied statistics; Geriatrics), and the PhD course in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology of the University of Ferrara. Moreover, I have contributed as a teacher at the KI course "Aging and Age-Related Disorders: Biological, Epidemiological, and Clinical Perspectives".
