This competitive Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) grant under the European COST Action EU-SABV (CA22114) supports a project focused on advancing translational pharmacological research by systematically integrating Sex as a Biological Variable (SABV) into preclinical models. The work involves 3D human-induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived organoids and neuro-immune co-culture models to investigate sex-specific intracellular immune responses and glial cell reactivity under infectious and oxidative stress. The project also facilitates cross-border knowledge transfer to establish standardised, 3R-compliant in vitro protocols for upcoming research infrastructure implementation in Turkey.
