About me
My research has a focus on dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB), and I defended my thesis called "Does white matter matter? Neuroimaging in Dementia with Lewy bodies and related conditions" here at KI in June 2025. I am also focusing on research infrastructure and how we can perform good clinical research that is close to the clinical populations. My background is in psychology and I have previously also worked in care of patients with dementia. I am also working with projects related to MemClin and the Svenskt Lewy Body Network.
During my PhD I was also engaged as the Clinical Geriatrics South student representative in the NVS Doctoral Student Council and I student representative at the Committee for Doctoral Education at NVS Establishment meetings for new doctoral projects.
Research
My PhD-project was focused on brain imaging in Dementia with Lewy Bodies with a focus on cerebrovascular factors. Across the project we used a range of methods from clinically available to novel and investigate both clinical phenotypes and more mechanistic features. As a postdoctoral researcher I continue by developing my research based on the previous results, both through new methods and new types of data. I am having an interest in understanding the complexity and variety of disorders seen in the clinics, which is something for example the MemClin-project tries to highlight.
Teaching
- I have co-supervised Psychologist and Medical students in their master thesis work. I have also presented to clinicians on multiple occasions in my role in the MemClin-project. In my role with the Swedish Lewy Body Network, I coordinate and plan activities such as lectures and workshops targeted to clinicians and care professionals.
