Ami Fagerdahl

I am a specialist nurse in both perioperative nursing and infectious diseases, and I earned my PhD in Medical Science in 2013. Since 2021, I have been an Associate Professor (Docent) in Nursing at KI SÖS, where I work as a Senior Lecturer in Caring Science. I also serve as the Programme Director for the specialist nursing programme in perioperative care, with responsibility for the academic development, quality assurance, and research integration of the curriculum.

In parallel with my academic role, I work at the Wound Centre at Södersjukhuset, where I am the R&D (FoUU) Leader, responsible for driving research, development, and educational initiatives within the field of wound care. I also maintain a clinical position, primarily participating in the surgical procedures carried out in the operating theatre at the Wound Centre, which allows me to closely integrate clinical practice with research and teaching.

I am the leader of the research group SuN‑RISE (Surgical Nursing Research, Innovation & Education) at the Department of Clinical Science and Education, Södersjukhuset. Our research focuses on surgical nursing, innovation in clinical pathways, and educational development, with the aim of advancing both clinical care and patient outcomes.
