X-ray Irradiation Core Facility (nodes KM) - user guidelines
The core facility is open for researchers at KI.
Education and access
Education is required in order to use the equipment. You have to attend an "Introduction to radiation protection"-course prior to start using the X-ray irradiators. You also have to complete the online course focused on the X-ray irradiator XStrahl CIX2/CIX3. In addition, you need to attend an onsite introduction to the irradiators.
- You need to have completed the "Introduction to radiation protection"-course no longer than five years ago. Please provide a certificate when contacting the experts for access. If your certificate is older than five years or if you have not completed a similar course previously, you will need to register for one.
- If you have attended an equivalent course, you need to provide a certificate and sign up for an onsite introduction to get access to the X-ray irradiator.
"Introduction to radiation protection" and “X-ray irradiator XStrahl CIX2/CIX3” are offered online. All mandatory courses can be found at Radiation Safety on the Staff portal, after having logged in with your KI-ID.
