Please describe, in short, your career:
After graduating in June 2025, I started working as a junior scientist at Sciensano, Belgium. I was the project coordinator for the national surveillance of healthcare-associated infections in intensive care units, for 9 months. Now, I’m looking for a new (international) role!

Describe in short your career
I hold a medical degree from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (2006–2011) and a Master of Science in Global Health from Karolinska Institutet, in collaboration with the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (2016–2017). My background combines clinical practice with a strong focus on public and global health. I have complimented my training through teaching and research. I have taught courses in the Global Health master's program at the Universidad de Monterrey and at the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey for medical trainees. I have developed and implemented community and research projects in rural areas and among vulnerable populations in Mexico—focusing on the promotion and monitoring of chronic diseases such as diabetes—in collaboration with the Mexican Health Foundation (FUNSALUD), the Inter-American Development Bank, and Partners In Health Mexico. From 2024 to 2026, I worked at ISSSTE within the Office of Advisors to the Director General and the Directorate of Representative Offices.

What is your current degree?
MD, PhD in Immunology.
Describe, in short, your career
I am an MD with a PhD in Immunology and advanced postdoctoral training in Europe, including Austria, Germany and Sweden. My scientific background has been centred on natural killer cell immunology in the context of autoimmunity, cancer, and infectious diseases. I have been awarded several Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowships and have served as an expert evaluator for the European Commission. Over time, my career has evolved toward scientific consulting and research internationalisation, supporting academic mobility, competitive grant applications, and the development of international research collaborations between Latin America and Europe. I remain in close contact with students, researchers, and academic institutions in Mexico and other countries, and am strongly committed to strengthening science, education, and socially oriented initiatives in my country.
What is your current employment and/or role?
I work as an independent scientific consultant, advising students, researchers, and institutions on international research careers, European funding opportunities, and collaborative project development. My academic affiliation remains with Karolinska Institutet, where I worked as postdoc and as senior researcher, and I continue to collaborate with my former research group on immunology research, particularly in the area of natural killer cells. In parallel, I collaborate with the KI Grants Office in activities related to research project evaluation, internationalisation, and Marie Skłodowska-Curie funding opportunities. I am also actively involved in researcher and alumni networks, including the Marie Curie Alumni Association (Chapters Mexico, Sweden and Germany), and I currently serve as KI Alumni Ambassador for Mexico.
