Task Force Network grant for Specific Topics in Cancer Research - 2026
Cancer Research KI invites applications for support to Task Forces focusing on Specific
Cancers.

Established or new constellations can apply for 50 – 150.000 SEK to support Task Force activities. Up to ten applications will be funded. The initiative aims to encourage Karolinska Institutet and Karolinska University Hospital-based researchers to join forces and collaborate around one major group of cancers.
The Task Forces are intended to combine the expertise of basic researchers, clinicians, nursing and epidemiology researchers to solve interdisciplinary problems around a particular diagnosis and serve the community working on a specific group of cancers. A Task Force may include groups already conducting research on the specific cancer type in question, as well as researchers interested in a broader cancer problem who wish to collaborate with partners working on particular groups of cancers, e.g. focusing on different biological processes, technologies, or therapeutic interventions with high relevance for cancer biology and clinical applications. Cancer Research KI support may be used for planning activities, joint workshops, and as seed money to elaborate larger, interdisciplinary applications. A maximum of 30% can be used for administrative personnel.
Application
The application should contain a description of the Task Force (approx. one-page), the names of the leader and members of the proposed or existing steering group, as well as how the grant will be used, including a budget for April 2026-December 2029. If an application from an already established Task Force is submitted, it should include a one-page summary of the achievements and activities to date. The funding must be used by the end of 2029. The main applicant should hold a PhD degree and have affiliation at a KI department.
Applications should be submitted as a single pdf-file to cancerresearchki@ki.se no later than January 20, 2026. Please label your application as "last name-first name_Task Force Application 2026".
