In 2026, the University Library is tasked with coordinating the university’s cultural activities. As part of this, KIB organizes various cultural events throughout the year. Their webpage is updated regularly with information about upcoming events.

Photographer Lennart Nilsson became famous all over the world for his images of fetuses, virus and cells. The exhibition Science in Art, Art in Science shows unique photographs from Lennart Nilssons career, objects and equipment from his last laboratory at KI and illuminates the importance of imaging techniques for medical science.

The Cell is a venue of the National Museum of Science and Technology, situated in Hagastaden in Stockholm with Karolinska Institutet as knowledge partner. It is a unique meeting place for life science and art, where you can take part in guided tours, exhibitions, talks and also organise events. All activities are free of charge.

See images, books, and instruments representing centuries of exploration into the smallest details of the human body. The exhibition is a collaboration between the Nobel Prize Museum and the Unit for Medical History and Heritage at the KI University Library. On view from 8 May to 29 November 2026.
