Om mig

  • Jag är docent i rehabiliteringsmedicin med inriktning mot arbetsterapi vid
    enheten för rehabiliteringsmedicin, institutionen för neurovetenskap vid
    Uppsala universitet. År 2007 disputerade jag på sektionen för arbetsterapi
    på KI. Jag har erfarenhet av undervisning och handledning inom
    grundutbildning, avancerad nivå och forskarnivå, framför allt vid
    Arbetsterapeutprogrammet. Nu är jag anknuten forskare men anställd som
    FoU-ledare på Akademiska sjukhuset i Uppsala.

Forskningsbeskrivning

  • Min forskning handlar huvudsakligen om personer med stroke och deras
    vardagsliv men jag studerar även personer med andra funktionsnedsättningar
    och deras erfarenheter av och delaktighet i vardagens aktiviteter. Jag har
    utvecklat och utvärderar ett personcentrerat arbetslivsinriktat
    rehabiliteringsprogram för personer med stroke i arbetsför ålder och
    deltar i utvecklingen av ett personcentrerat rehabiliteringsprogram för att
    möjliggöra arbete för personer med ryggmärgsskada. I dessa projekt har
    jag inspirerats av och använt Medical Research Council (MRC) riktlinjer
    för att utveckla och utvärdera komplexa interventioner. Gemensamt för min
    forskning är att den har fokus på betydelsen och effekten av
    personcentrerad rehabilitering och det har genererat erfarenhet av både
    kvantitativa och kvalitativa metoder. Jag har också varit huvudhandledare
    och bihandledare till flera doktorander. Ett forskningsprojekt jag är
    delaktig i nu som bedrivs i Sverige och Uganda fokuserar på
    tvärvetenskapliga globala studier av effekterna och betydelserna av
    ADL-interventioner där informations- och kommunikationsteknik såsom
    mobiltelefonen används som stöd. En annan del av min forskning är
    utvecklingen av bedömningsinstrumentet Occupational Gaps Questionnaire (på
    svenska GAP) som mäter delaktighet i vardagens aktiviteter. Instrumentet
    utvecklades i mitt avhandlingsarbete och har testats psykometriskt och
    vidareutvecklats. De senaste tio åren har instrumentet översatts och
    kulturanpassats till ett antal andra länder i Europa, Afrika och Asien och
    används för nya målgrupper nationellt och internationellt.
