Om mig

Jag har en förenad anställning som lektor mellan sektionen för fysioterapi och Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset där jag är FoU-chef för Funktion Hälsoprofessioner. Jag är också vetenskaplig ledare vid FOU nu (Stockholms läns sjukvårdsområde), en samfinansierad verksamhet mellan Stockholms läns landsting och sju kommuner i nordvästra Stockholm med fokus på forskning och utveckling inom äldrevård och äldreomsorg. De kombinerade anställningarna ger mig goda möjligheter att kombinera, forskning, utveckling och utbildning.

Utbildning

Jag blev legitimerad sjukgymnast 1991 och tog min kandidatexamen 1999. Jag disputerade vid Karolinska Institutet 2007.

Forskningsbeskrivning

Min forskning har fokuserat på fysisk aktivitet och träning och effekter av detta på sköra äldre personer, både i eget boende, rehabilitering inom geriatrisk slutenvård samt på äldreboenden. Jag har också studerat olika bedömningsinstrument som tex mätning av muskelstyrka, gånghastighet och mer övergripande funktionsmått. Nyligen har jag också initierat ett forskningsprojekt med fokus på preoperativ träning för äldre personer med mag- och tarm cancer samt ett projekt om vårdkonsumtion och riskfaktorer för återinläggning efter utskrivning från geriatrisk klinik. Min kombinerade anställning ger mig utmärkta möjligheter att bedriva kliniskt relevant forskning och ökar möjligheterna för implementering.
