KI continues its strategic initiative – new major international recruitment campaign
On 1 June, Karolinska Institutet launches a major international recruitment campaign for 21 Assistant Professor positions – building on the success of last year’s initiative, which attracted more than 2,700 applications from nearly 90 countries. The aim is clear: to bring in the very best early-career researchers and strengthen KI’s position as a world-leading medical university.
KI met future students at Järvaveckan
Karolinska Institutet was present at Järvaveckan, an event where the Swedish public sector engages with the general public, discusses current issues and forges new connections. Järvaveckan is also an important forum for inspiring future students and fostering dialogue on education, research and health.
Changes to Swedish migration rules for students
The Swedish government has decided to introduce changes to the current migration legislation that will affect students holding a residence permit for studies. These changes are scheduled to take effect on 11 June 2026.
KI student Philip changed direction: “I wanted to understand people rather than markets”
After completing a bachelor’s degree in economics, Philip Lindersten realised he was more interested in people than in markets. Today, he is studying on the psychology programme at KI, where the encounter between research and real-life experiences became decisive for his choice.
