The Nobel lectures with Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun
Welcome to this year's Nobel lectures where Nobel laureates Professor Victor Ambros and Professor Gary Ruvkun will talk about their research areas. The lectures will be held in Aula Medica, Karolinska Institutet, on 7 December at 14:00, and will also be broadcast live.
The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine: “A groundbreaking discovery that has finally been rewarded”
Gary Ruvkun and Victor Ambros share this year's Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. They are being awarded for their discovery of microRNAs, which play a crucial role in the development of complex organisms. Research is underway at Karolinska Institutet on how these small molecules can be applied clinically.
Studying and being a parent
Many of KI’s students have similar lives. Studying, hanging out with friends, exercising, and perhaps being involved in the student union or section. For some, the factor of having children is added to the equation. What is it like to study full-time and be a parent at the same time?
