About me

  • I am a medical doctor from Japan. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher
    at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
    I completed my PhD in Epidemiology in 2019 at London School of Hygiene and
    Tropical Medicine. My PhD looked at the contribution of adiposity on carotid
    plaques assessed using ultrasound in Russia and Norway. I also hold an MSc
    degree in Public Health.
    Prior to my doctorate study, I worked as an anaesthesiologist for eight
    years in several Japanese hospitals where I was particularly interested in
    cardiac anaesthesiology and the assessment of cardiac function using
    transoesophageal echocardiography. I also worked as a safety physician at
    two pharmaceutical companies.

Research

  • My research will focus on the effect of cardiovascular disease, covid-19, and
    cancer on cognitive aging outcomes and biological aging using the Mendelian
    Randomization method.
