About me

  • I am a postdoctoral researcher in global health and a social scientist at the Department of Global Public Health, working within the Implementation and Quality (IMPAQT) research group. I specialise in qualitative research, mixed-methods and participatory approaches to understand how individuals, communities, and healthcare providers perceive and respond to evolving global health challenges.

Research

  • My research lies at the intersection of climate change, health, and disease, with a particular focus on maternal and child health and pregnancy-related complications. I am currently part of the EU-funded HIGH Horizons project (2022-2026), contributing to studies on user experience and implementation strategies related to digital innovations (early warning systems) in maternal health.

My previous research has focused on arboviruses, investigating how women, families, and health systems navigated the risks associated with Zika virus infection during pregnancy and early childhood. I was also part of the final-phase reporting and dissemination of the EU-funded ALERT project (2020-2024), focused on complex interventions aimed at improving maternal and perinatal outcomes.

    Education

I hold a Masters degree in Public Health Sciences and Infectious Disease Control and have an academic background in Sociology. My doctoral thesis, “Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights among newly arrived migrants in Sweden: Knowledge gaps and healthcare challenges” (Forte-funded, 2018-2020), examined structural and experiential facilitators and barriers to SRHR among migrant communities.

Teaching

  • Topics I teach:

    • Quality assurance in qualitative research, focusing on methodological rigour
    • Sexual and reproductive health and rights, with emphasis on access to care
    • Infectious diseases and global health challenges, including prevention, control, and health systems response

I supervise master's students in their thesis writing and supervise PhD students.
