Thomai Mouskeftara

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the research group of Lars Tjernberg. I obtained my PhD from the School of Medicine at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. My background is in bioanalytical chemistry, specifically in metabolomics and lipidomics analysis, with a focus on the investigation of small molecules and lipids associated with metabolic diseases in human studies and animal models.

In my current position, I focus on protein profiling to investigate the molecular processes involved in neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease. Specifically, I study protein post-translational modifications and protein interactomes across different biological matrices. To achieve this, I utilize advanced analytical techniques, including liquid chromatography coupled with high-resolution mass spectrometry. Through this work, we aim to identify novel biomarkers and contribute to the development of new therapeutic targets.
