About me

  • I am a clinical researcher working in the areas of stroke, cognition, and dementia, with a focus on improving the assessment and interpretation of cognitive and functional outcomes. My work combines real-world data research with a strong clinical perspective to enhance assessment practices and foster collaboration across neurology, rehabilitation, and dementia care. I am also an active clinician and works as a senior occupational therapist and specialist in occupational therapy in an acute stroke unit.

Research

  • My research focuses on the clinical interpretation and appropriate use of cognitive, functional, and participation-related measurement scales in stroke and dementia populations. My interests cover stroke, cognition, mental health, and dementia, as well as functional outcomes, activity limitations, and the cost-effectiveness of rehabilitation.

Teaching

  • I am involved in teaching and academic supervision. I have supervised over 15 master’s students, and I currently supervise two PhD students (principal supervisor for one PhD student). My teaching and lecturing focus on occupational therapy, cognition, rehabilitation, team work, and the clinical interpretation of assessment measures, and are strongly informed by my combined experience as a clinician and researcher. Through my teaching, I aim to support interdisciplinary learning and strengthen the links between research and clinical practice.
