About me

  • I am a postdoctoral researcher, funded by the Swedish Research Council International Postdoc Grant, based jointly at Karolinska Institutet and the University of Edinburgh.

My research is driven by a deep interest in understanding the complex and often overlooked connections between mental and metabolic health. Currently, I focus on using -omic data—particularly metabolomics—to untangle the heterogeneity of major depressive disorder. I'm especially intrigued by how metabolic dysregulation might inform subtypes of depression and help us better understand comorbidity patterns with metabolic disorders like obesity and type 2 diabetes.

Throughout my academic trajectory, I have consistently pursued interdisciplinary research, integrating epidemiological frameworks with bioinformatic methodologies to investigate these questions across both molecular and population-level dimensions.

My ultimate aim is to produce insights that can have real-world implications for improving health care and public health strategies for people facing metabolic and mental health challenges.
