My research focuses on how skeletal muscle mass and function are regulated under different conditions, and how this tissue interacts with other physiological systems in humans. My present focus is a retrospective analysis across multiple bed-rest studies to characterise musculoskeletal adaptations to short- and long-duration simulated microgravity and to inform feasible countermeasures. In parallel, I contribute to ongoing human studies and wet-lab experiments within the group.

Previously, my research centred on muscle architecture and skeletal muscle signalling, combining ultrasound-based morphology with molecular and analytical approaches.
