Hello, I am delighted to be working with the CACTUS research group on my studies, which focus on the perceived access and ability to use everyday technologies by people living with and without dementia in Sweden and the UK.
I originally graduated from the University of Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music. I then worked as a performer, teacher and project manager in the arts for more than 10 years where health became an increasing focus to my practice. Always interested in the unique meaning and impact of music as an activity, I wanted to take a more client-centred and less activity-centred approach and facilitate health and wellbeing through occupation more broadly. So I retrained as an occupational therapist and completed my masters at the University of Cumbria.
I am proud to be a Marie Sklodowska Curie fellow funded through the Interdisciplinary Network for Dementia Using Current Technology (INDUCT). I am interested in ground up research, power dynamics, particularly as experienced by people with dementia, the changing role of technology in people’s lives and the relationship between individual experience and top down sociopolitical drivers.
