About me
I am a postdoctoral researcher in Clinical Genetics at Karolinska Institutet, working on identifying the genetic causes of rare skeletal disorders and using molecular and cellular assays to study their functional impact. During my PhD at Lund University, I studied the vascular disease abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA), focusing on the underlying genetic, epigenetic, and other molecular factors. I hold a Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine from Imperial College London, where I investigated DNA methylation in a human retrovirus.
I am interested in understanding how genetic variants and dynamic epigenetic modifications regulate gene expression and influence disease phenotypes. I work extensively with advanced molecular biology methods, including next-generation (high-throughput) sequencing, bioinformatics, and statistical analysis, to address complex questions in clinical and translational research.
In addition to research, I was actively involved in academic governance during my PhD, serving on various faculty-level committees and as Chair of the Medical Doctoral Student Union (MDR) at Lund University.
