Roxana Merino Martinez

I am a Project Manager at CLINTEC, Karolinska Institutet. With a background in computer engineering and experience in software development and university-level teaching, I began my journey at KI in 2001 as a guest researcher in bioinformatics, then transitioned to project management. Over the past two decades, I have been involved in numerous multidisciplinary national and international projects focused on research infrastructure and FAIR data management in biomedical research and biobanking. My portfolio includes several EU Research and Innovation Actions, such as RD-Connect, BioMedBridges, B3Africa, RISCC, and HEAP, among others, where I have contributed throughout the projects' lifecycle—from conceptualization and planning through application, implementation, and reporting.

My main aim is to contribute to a more holistic approach to science by finding solutions for integration and knowledge discovery that leverage the most advanced technologies and methods. I am committed to breaking down silos in biomedical research, facilitating collaboration across disciplines and borders, and ensuring that research data and resources are managed in accordance with Open Science principles to maximize their value for scientific discovery and public health.
