About me

  • I am a medical doctor trained in obstetrics/gynaecology and a research affiliate at the EPHIR Research Group at
the Department of Global Public Health. I work at the intersection of academics, research and implementation.
In my previous work I have led the maternal and newborn health project, Improved Maternal and Child Health (IMCH) of the Tanzanian
German Programme to Support Health (German Development Cooperation) in Southern Tanzania. In addition to this I was as a Clinical Lecturer
at the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM). I have clinical, research/project management experience from countries such
as Germany, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi, Ghana and Burkina Faso.
My passion is underpinning implementation of evidence-based practice with complexity awareness and solid research and monitoring &
  • evaluation methods.
I enjoy writing peer reviews for scientific journals on topics like maternal and newborn health, reproductive health and visualizing data and information.

  • My PhD studies related to social practices around data quality and use to inform the digitalization of routine health information systems in Tanzania. I am experienced and interested in participatory methods in qualitative research fostering co-design of interventions to improve people's lives.
