About me

  • I work as assistant lecturer and researcher at the Division of Pathology, Department of Laboratory Medicine. Since May 2023, I serve as Program Director for both the Biomedical Laboratory Science programme and the Master’s programme in Biomedical Laboratory Science, with overall responsibility for programme development, educational quality, and strategic coordination, alongside my teaching and research.

Research

  • My research focuses on the multifunctional protein tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase (TRAP) and its role in regulating cellular responses across diverse biological contexts, including immune regulation and cancer progression. Specifically, I investigate how TRAP influences cellular signaling, metabolic adaptation, and stress responses in complex microenvironments.

Teaching

  • My teaching portfolio spans both theoretical and practical aspects of cell and molecular biology, as well as general pathology, scientific methodology, and biostatistics. I also contribute to teaching in chemistry, biochemistry, and immunology. In addition, I integrate training in project management, communication, and leadership to support students’ professional development.

My teaching is grounded in a student-centered approach that emphasizes active learning over passive knowledge acquisition. A central aspect of my teaching is to create opportunities for students to translate theoretical knowledge into practical application. I aim to develop students’ ability to think critically, solve complex problems, and apply their knowledge in new contexts, preparing them for future roles in healthcare, research, and biomedicine.

I have a particular interest in how student learning progresses across a programme and in how progression can be supported and followed in practice through alignment between learning outcomes, teaching activities, and assessment.
