About me

  • I am a senior clinician and researcher specializing in difficult-to-treat depression, with a particular focus on adolescents. Clinically active as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at BUP Sollentuna, I focus on individualized psychopharmacological strategies, including complex medication transitions and advanced interventions. My current research centers on developing treatment protocols in therapy-resistant depression among adolescents.

I earned my PhD in medical science at Uppsala University, where I investigated the identification, characterization, and evolution of membrane-bound proteins with a focus on pharmacogenomics and bioinformatics. My postdoctoral work at Karolinska Institutet and the Jönköping Academy focused on improving healthcare organizations, quality improvement, and advancing person-centered care, including international collaborations and systems-level innovations.

I am affiliated with the Child and Adolescent Research Group at Karolinska Institutet, and serve as Care Process Owner for Adolescent Depression and Bipolar Disorder within Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Stockholm. I also contribute to national psychiatric care development as an expert in the Swedish Medical Products Agency’s national treatment recommendations for depression, anxiety, and OCD, and as a member of the National Working Group for Depression, Anxiety, and OCD under SALAR. In addition, I am a member of the Expert Group for Mental Health within the Stockholm Region Drug and Therapeutics Committee.

Teaching is a central part of my work. I serve as the course leader for the national training program on adolescent depression for resident doctors in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAMHS). I have also been involved in national courses on quality improvement and have held several academic and student leadership roles focused on curriculum development, teaching quality, and mentoring.
