About me

  • I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet. My research focuses on developing and validating machine learning models for the diagnosis, grading, and risk prediction of prostate cancer from digitised core needle biopsy images. My work emphasizes robustness, generalisability across clinical settings, and the integration of AI into real-world pathology workflows.

I received my PhD from Karolinska Institutet, where my research centered on clinically reliable artificial intelligence for prostate cancer pathology. I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, and have also conducted research at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.

Research

  • My research interests include:

    • Clinical AI for oncology
    • Medical image analysis (histopathology, multi-modal imaging)
    • Robust and generalisable machine learning
    • Outcome prediction and survival analysis
    • Multi-modal learning (imaging, clinical, molecular data)
    • AI validation, benchmarking, and real-world deployment
    • Trustworthy AI (uncertainty estimation, interpretability, bias)
    • Digital pathology and computational histopathology
    • AI for clinical decision support systems
