Miriam Nauri
About me
I serve as the library director of Karolinska Institutet since September 2022.
Previously, I have worked as the library director at the Stockholm School of Economics and as a department director at the National Library of Sweden. As a library and information scientist, my expertise lies in knowledge organization, standard development, and fostering international collaboration in these domains. In other words, in contributing to the diligent analytical and diplomatic efforts that make large-scale scientific communication possible at all.
I began my career as a thesaurus developer and have also worked as an adjunct lecturer in the Master's program in Library and Information Science in Uppsala. For many years now, facilitating tasks have been at the center of my responsibilities. I enjoy working in an expert organization where different kinds of people and competencies converge. I believe this aligns well with the mission of a university library: to be a stable yet pluralistic infrastructure/meeting place for the exchange of ideas, research findings, and facts.
I am a member of Bibsam's steering group and a member of the board of the Swedish Library Association.
