About me

  • I’m a global public health researcher and practitioner with over 15 years of experience exploring and addressing the social and structural drivers of health, including gender-based violence, poverty, mental health challenges, and inequities in health. My work focuses on advancing wellbeing and resilience, particularly among young people and communities facing adversity.

I hold an MPH in Maternal and Child Health and a PhD in Global Public Health. Trained in mixed-methods and implementation science research, I’ve led NIH-, BMGF- and USAID-funded studies across sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, developed in-person and digital tools to support mental and relational health, and partnered with local and international stakeholders to adapt evidence into practice. I’m passionate about work that centers the lived experiences of communities and translates research into action through programming, policy, or innovation.

Research

  • My interests span interpersonal violence, mental health, gender equity, youth empowerment, crisis resilience, and digital health. I’m particularly drawn to opportunities that support wellbeing in complex environments, whether through cross-sector collaboration, health system strengthening, or building community resilience.

At heart, I am driven by the desire to innovate and collaborate globally, combining research with action to create lasting, meaningful change. Open to new connections and opportunities to collaborate on research, strategy, or programs advancing equity and health globally.

Teaching

  • I have contributed to teaching and capacity-building in global public health with a particular focus on gender-based violence (GBV) within the context of sexual and reproductive health (SRH). I have delivered sessions on GBV as a public health issue, ethical and methodological considerations in GBV data collection, and approaches to qualitative quality assurance in research.

In addition to classroom teaching, I have supervised Master’s students in public health and served as a reviewer of Master’s theses. I am committed to supporting learners in developing critical, ethical, and practice-oriented approaches to complex public health challenges.
