About me

  • I have worked with epidemiology and statistics within the medical field since
the fall of 1993 when I started working as a research assistant at the
Department of Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the University
Hospital in Uppsala, Sweden. In January 1996, I started working as a
statistician at the Unit for Population Statistics at Statistics Sweden. At
Statistics Sweden I worked mainly with extracting and compiling data from the
administrative register records of the Swedish population held at Statistics
Sweden that can be used for research purposes and inquires. In August 1998, I
started working as a statistician at the National Cancer Registry at the
Centre for Epidemiology within the National Board of Health and Welfare. I
was responsible for the annual updates of the register
  • as well as
co-responsible for the registry's official statistics and other statistics.
The main working time I, however, devoted to extract and compile data for
research purposes from the Cancer register, other health data registers and
the Cause of Death Register all held by the National Board. In 2006, I moved
to the Unit of Analysis at the Centre for Epidemiology where I mostly worked
with reports and Official Government Inquires within the National Board.
After a major reorganization of the National Board in January 2010 I began
working at the Unit of Epidemiology, but my duties remained much the same, as
at the Unit of Analysis. During the period April to December 2011, I was on
leave from the National Board to complete my dissertation in epidemiology at
the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Karolinska
Institutet. During the period December 2012 to March 2014, I worked as an
analyst at the Unit for Analysis at the Swedish Tax Agency and in April 2014,
I began working as a statistician at the Unit of Epidemiology at the
Institute of Environmental Medicine at Karolinska Institutet. At Institute of
Environmental Medicine I work mainly with epidemiological studies that
emanate from the population-based register of the Swedish population held at
Statistics Sweden, the National Board of Health and Welfare and others
    government agencies.
*Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Epidemiology*
I received my PhD in December 2011 at the Department of Medical Epidemiology
    and Biostatistics, Karolinska Institutet.
Cancer patient survival in Sweden – theory and application [1]
*Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Economics*,
specialisation in Statistics 1992. Uppsala University, Uppsala, Sweden.
