About me
I am a postdoctoral researcher and university lecturer at Karolinska Institutet, working at the Division of Nursing with a focus on public health nursing, school nursing, health‑promoting interventions, and person‑centred care. In my role, I teach at the bachelor’s and master’s level, conduct research, and contribute to the department’s internationalisation efforts.
My path to KI began with my nursing degree here in 2010. After several years of clinical work, as an emergency nurse, in elderly care, and as a school nurse, I pursued further studies in global health at Uppsala University, followed by a master’s degree in public health nursing at KI.
In 2018, I returned to KI for my doctoral studies at the Department of Global Public Health, where I researched health‑promoting school‑based interventions and school nurses’ work with parents. After completing my PhD in 2022, I continued as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Department of Nursing.
Research
- My research aims to develop and strengthen health‑promoting practices within the school context, with a particular focus on school nurses’ pratice and school based interventions that promote healthy behaviours among children. By combining qualitative and quantitative methods, and by working closely with both clinical settings and school environments, I strive to generate knowledge that can improve the implementation of preventive interventions. In this way, I hope to contribute to a more effective and equitable public health practice that enhances childrens’ opportunities for good health.
Teaching
- I teach at both the bachelor’s and master’s level at Karolinska Institutet, primarily in public health nursing, and research methodology. I have served as course coordinator and contributed to course development within the specialist programme in public health nursing, and I have extensive experience in lecturing, leading seminars, and supervising student projects. In addition, I take part in the department’s internationalisation efforts and the development of the intercultural educational environment.
