About me

  • I am a postdoctoral researcher and licensed psychologist at the Centre for Psychiatry Research, Karolinska Institutet. I teach at Kompetenscentrum för psykoterapi.

My research is concerned with understanding psychiatric problems at the individual level, across diagnostic categories. Starting from a transdiagnostic interest in emotion regulation, I have worked with network-based methods as a way of mapping how symptoms, behaviors, and maintaining factors relate within a person. This methodological perspective runs through my work on psychological treatment for adolescents with substance use problems, including the evaluation of the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA), and my current work on women with problematic alcohol use, where network analysis is used to study individual patterns of symptoms and triggers. I am currently working on research focusing on the needs of women with problematic alcohol use, with the hopes of developing female-adapted treatments.

My doctoral thesis,  Emotion regulation as a transdiagnostic construct: Novel approaches to psychiatric diagnostics, was defended in January 2023.
