About me

Research

  • My research focuses on sexual abuse from two main perspectives: a victimological perspective, in which I examine and treat the psychological consequences of sexual abuse, and a prevention perspective aimed at reducing the occurrence of sexual offences.

My doctoral thesis explored technology-assisted child sexual abuse, examining how such offences are perpetrated and the psychological consequences for the affected children.

I have also worked as a project manager and therapist within the EU‑funded project PRIORITY, which evaluated the anonymous online preventative treatment program Prevent It, designed for individuals at risk of committing sexual abuse against children.

Currently, I am the principal investigator of a project evaluating Restory—an anonymous trauma-focused online treatment program designed for individuals who have developed PTSD following sexual victimization.

In addition to these main research areas, I also conduct research on police interviewing of children and on children who witness domestic violence

    .
