About me

  • I am a translational scientist with a PhD in medical science working at the intersection of cardiometabolic disease, bioinformatics and molecular biology, currently serving as senior research engineer and Director of the Human Molecular Athlete Moonshot at Stanford University.

Research

  • My research is dedicated to deciphering the specific molecular mechanisms that mediate the health benefits of exercise, a crucial determinant in combating the global health crisis posed by sedentary lifestyles. Recognized as the fourth leading risk factor for mortality worldwide, physical inactivity is a modifiable behavior that, if addressed, has the potential to prevent numerous leading causes of premature mortality, including type II diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. By leveraging cutting-edge exercise interventions and multi-omic techniques alongside advanced cellular

models, my work aims not only to delineate the molecular pathways that confer exercise’s protective effects but also to translate these findings into actionable strategies for the prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic conditions. This integrative approach stands to offer transformative insights into public health policies and therapeutic innovations, towards the goal of precision exercise health.
