About me

  • I am a physician, licensed since 2012, board-certified specialist in internal medicine (2017) and cardiology (2020). Currently serving as the medical lead of the Hemostasis Unit at the Cardiology clinic at Danderyd University Hospital in Stockholm, and pursuing my PhD at Karolinska Institutet.

As a PhD student a have been awarded research grants from the research foundations: Stiftelsen Hjärtat, Fond 176 and Karolinska Institutet's fund for Coagulation research. My first abstract received an award for best poster at the Nordic Coagulation meeting in Reykjavik 2022.

Research

  • My PhD project focuses on at a mechanistic level why obesity and type 2 diabetes – “two global pandemics”, increase thrombotic risk and how profound weight loss influence hemostasis and thromboinflammation through a carefully designed bariatric‑surgery cohort.

Teaching

  • 1. I regularly give lectures focusing on arterial and venous thrombembolism with audiences ranging from specialist nurses to dentists as well as interns, residents and specialist physicians in various specialities. The current, anonymous rating of my performance as a lecturer from participants is high: (5.4 on a scale from 1 to 6)
    2. I have been responsible (course manager) for a highly rated national, week long course ("SK kurs") in arterial and venous thromboembolism, for residents on five occasions from 2022-2025.
    3. I am responsible for patient education at Danderyd University hospital in self-monitoring and self.management of anticoagulant treatment with vitamin k antagonists.
