About me

  • Lucas Morin is a senior researcher at INSERM (Paris, France) and an affiliated researcher at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden). He uses routinely collected healthcare data to compare the real-world effectiveness and safety of medical treatments among older adults with complex health problems (e.g. frailty, polypharmacy, multimorbidity). His main interest lies in applying novel statistical methods to address biases that typically arise in studies trying to infer causality from observational data, such as unmeasured confounding, protopathic bias, and differential outcome classification. He is also the principal investigator of a large study focused on the long-term survival and health outcomes of patients with haematological malignancies admitted to intensive care units. Lucas obtained his PhD from the Aging Research Center at Karolinska Institutet in 2019.
