Lena Lund

I am a district nurse with 15 years experience from primary health care. Between 2019 to 2024, I was employed as head of a two units including at Academic Primary Health Care Centre in Region Stockholm. Since 2024.

My research interest is on qualitative research and/or different aspects of nursing in primary health care. In my PhD I developed a questionnaire (TTQ) to assess factors influence quit attempts in smoking among patients with COPD. 

During the years, my focus has mostly been on lifestyle habits, especially tobacco prevention but also on hazardous use of alcohol. In 2021 our research group received funding from FORTE for a study of hypertension and hazardous alcohol use. I am the main supervisor for a doctoral student in this project, including both qualitative and quantitative data. 

I have been more and more involved in research related to the health of older adults, such as pulmonary diseases, mental health and medication use. For example in project “Senior Connect” , focusing on perceived loneliness among older adults we have done psychometric analyses of the loneliness scale to identify older adults with perceived loneliness. A another related focus to older adults is treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases, where I today am involved in the SCOPIC study (cohort following treatment of COPD in primary care). I have also a small part in the  Vinnova project PREDEM where the aim is to detect early signs of cognitive decline.
