Kimberly Kane
About me
Kimberly Kane is a PhD student at the Division of Nursing. Her doctoral project investigates children and families affected by substance use disorders, focusing on parental diagnoses and long‑term outcomes in children. She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology/anthropology from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in the social sciences from the University of Chicago.
Before beginning her doctoral studies, Kimberly worked in the United States as an ethnographic interviewer and historical researcher. Since relocating to Sweden in 2002, she has worked as an editor and writer and has taught courses in scientific communication. She became a certified medical writer (Medical Writer Certified, MWC) in 2019. Kimberly is currently employed as a scientific editor at the Academic Primary Health Care Centre, Region Stockholm.
