During the last 15 years I have been conducting research in the field of cardiac arrest and I am now the Head of Research at the Centre for Resuscitation Science at Karolinska Institutet. I also work as a Cardiologist at Södersjukhuset and as the Chair in the Swedish Resuscitation Council’s working group for defibrillation.
In my role as Head of Research I am responsible for several clinical studies aiming to improve the care of cardiac arrest patients. On June 11, 2015, some of our previous data was published in two separate papers in the New England Journal of Medicine.
Our research programme consists of more than 10 comprehensive projects which include everything from initial treatment in the home and ambulance to treatment at hospital. The overall aim of our research is to increase survival for patients suffering out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
