About me

  • Helene Sundelin is Associate Professor of paediatric neurology at Karolinska Institutet and Senior Consultant at Karolinska University Hospital. She is passionate about integrating AI and digital solutions into clinical practice to make healthcare more efficient, accessible, and patient-centered.

    For more than 25 years Helene has worked actively to structure and give care for children with neurodevelopmental conditions, epilepsy and neuropsychiatric disorders at different University Hospitals across Scandinavia. Working in close collaboration with regulatory agencies as part of different expert groups appointed by agencies such as The Norwegian Directorate of Health, Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare and the Swedish Medical Products Agency she has been part of improving healthcare for patients. Helene works in the Epilepsy Surgery team with presurgical evaluations, VNS and complex epilepsy in general.

     

Research

  • Helene Sundelins research focuses on drug resistant epilepsy and epilepsy surgery evaluations primarily applying AI on registry data. She is also the leader of the research project PedStroke and co-developer of the e-health app NeuroMotion. The overall aim of the project is developing e-health technology (including AI) to facilitate diagnosis and treatment of neurological diseases irrespective of geographical distances and to gain knowledge concerning risk factors and prognosis for ischemic stroke and drug resistant epilepsy.
