About me

  • I am a specialist nurse in oncology and palliative care. My current position
is head of development and research, this involves leading strategic work in
parallel with clinical research. In addition, I am working clinically as a
contact nurse in an outpatient clinic with Head & neck, lung and skin cancer,
as well as at the cancer emergency department and the inpatient ward.
    Specialist nurse oncology 1995
    Bachelor degree 2011
Specialist nurse palliative care and masters degree 2015
PhD 2021. In August 2025, I have recieved a fellow-ship from Swedish cancer society, for the project Preventable psychological harm (PPH), in collaboration with Bern University in Switzerland.

Research

  • I finished my PhD in November 2021, and the thesis is about how patients with
cancer and complex care trajectories are utilizing health care, especially
those with both acute and palliative cancer care. One way of measuring
integration and quality of care at end-of-life is different aspects of health
care utilization, especially visits at the emergency department, care at
intensive care units and cancer treatments near end-of life. My research area
is about quality of care, patient safety and after my PhD, I am involved in several research projects; Digital symptom monitoring (lung cancer) Frailty assessment (lung cancer), quality of life and symptoms (head and neck cancer), Microsampling at home in lung cancer,   implementation of the ReSPECT form, and PI in Sweden for "Preventable psychological harm as a patient safety concern in cancer care".

Teaching

  • I teach at the specialist education, contact nurse program, as well as
    clinical, bed-side teaching.
