Helén Conte
Teaching
I have been working as intensive care nurse since 2002 and started at my teaching position at KI in 2004. I was on leave from the division of Nursing (NVS) while finishing my thesis at the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology(CLINTEC) in 2017.
At the intensive care unit at Karolinska University Hospital, Huddinge; I was the developer, the supervisor and head supervisor in the interprofessional education unit for over 10 years. We trained teams of future specialists (specialist nursing students and residents) together in a weeklong rotation in the ICU. The teaching consisted of facilitating interprofessional learning in student teams, teaching and supporting supervisors and head supervisors in their facilitation. I have taken courses in high fidelity simulation (Instructor).
I have worked at KI mainly in the specialist programs in different positions, as teacher, theoretical supervisor and course director since 2017. I am inriktningsansvarig for the specialist nursing program in intensive care since 2026 and an IPL promotor for all 11 programs on specialist level since 2020. My main field of expertise is in interprofessional and collaborative learning, case group design, group facilitation and high fidelity simulation and examinations.
I have worked for two periods at KI, Unit of teaching a learning as a facilitator in pedagogic courses and part of the Pulse project which hade the aim to support teachers in their teaching and learning.
I am heading the pedagogic group at the division of nursing that arranges collegial discussions and learning opportunities for the staff 6-7 times a year.
