Farzaneh Badinlou

Farzaneh Badinlou is a licensed psychologist and researcher working at the intersection of clinical practice and academic research. She works as a psychologist in university-affiliated primary care within the Academic Primary Care Centre (Region Stockholm) and is affiliated with the Centre for Psychiatry Research, a collaboration between Karolinska Institutet and Region Stockholm.

 

Her research interests include migration and mental health, psychological well-being, psychometrics, psychological flexibility, and the psychological consequences of major societal and health-related crises. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led and contributed to several research projects investigating the psychological impact of COVID-19 infection and post-COVID conditions, including effects on depression, anxiety, insomnia, psychological well-being, and psychosocial functioning. The findings provided insights into factors influencing psychological vulnerability, resilience, and adaptation during large-scale health crises.

Currently, she is the Principal Investigator of the research project “Study of Mental Health and Self-Help Strategies for Managing Worry Among People Experiencing a World Characterized by Crisis.” The project investigates psychological distress during periods of global uncertainty and crisis, with a focus on coping strategies, self-help approaches, and factors that support mental well-being and resilience.
