Erik Sachs
About me
Erik Sachs is an associate fellow at the Institution for Molecular Medicine and Surgery in the Thoracic Surgery research group. He is also a thoracic surgeon at Karolinska University Hospital. His main ambition is to strengthen the field of general thoracic surgery in Sweden through clinical research and surgical development.
Research
Surgical Treatment of Lung Cancer
Erik defended his doctoral thesis in general thoracic surgery and primarily the surgical treatment of lung cancer in June, 2024. Data was mainly collected from the Swedish National Quality Registry for General Thoracic Surgery (ThoR).
The purpose of his research is to improve outcomes for patients after surgical treatment of lung cancer and to evaluate currently used, as Will as promising cutting-edge, surgical methods.
