About me
Emil Olausson is a former student of KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, holding a degree in Information and Communication Technology. The degree involved a bachelor's in information and communication technology and a master's in medical engineering. His master's thesis was "Explainable Automatic Classification of Vertebral Compression from Opportunistic CT scans", which used computer models to classify vertebral compression fractures.
He is currently working as a PhD student at H9 Klinisk vetenskap, intervention och teknik.
He is interested in a wide range of areas within computer science, with a particular focus on medical applications. In the medical field, he has a particular interest in medical imaging and how computer-based diagnosis can be improved through computer science techniques.
Research
- Emil Olausson is interested in medical imaging analysis, including classification, segmentation, and file structures of medical images. Previous experience includes working with CT imaging, with a primary focus on bone‑related methods. The main interest within image analysis lies in applying artificial intelligence and computational techniques to process and interpret images after acquisition.
