About me
- I am a postdoctoral researcher with John Andersson and Fang Fang in the
Institute of Environmental Medicine.
My work focuses on the role/specificity of CD4 CTLs in ALS
A highly-motivated and curious researcher who is fascinated by the workings
of the immune system. Hoping to work on the interaction between the
psychology/mental health and immunity.
Awarded fellwoship through the 2022 ECTRIMS postdoctoral fellowship program
(declined)
2019: PhD in Molecular Medicine, specialized in molecular immunology and
virology - The Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, Cyprus
* Thesis: The antiviral role of natural killer cells in multiple sclerosis,
as seen from the perspective of an Epstein-Barr virus infection
2015: MSc, Masters in molecular medicine - The Cyprus Institute of Neurology
and Genetics, Cyprus
* Thesis: Characterization of natural killer cells in multiple sclerosis
patients.
2014: MBSc, Masters in biomedical Sciences - University of Balamand, Lebanon
* Thesis: The effect of aldosterone on glucose absorption in the jejunum of
adult colectomized rats.
Research
- My current pursuit is to identify possible autoantigens that may induce
clonally expanded CD4+ cytotoxic T cells in established patients of
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. I will also work on uncovering the change in
CD4 CTL activity across time in human ALS patients.
