I am a statistician with a PhD in Medical Science, Epidemiology at the Karolinska Institutet. I am currently working as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Aging Research Center.
I am involved in several projects, both in close collaboration with doctoral students and senior scientists, as well as with colleagues from other universities. In collaboration with the Geriatric Unit at the University of Brescia (A Marengoni) and the Department of Geriatric Medicine at Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre (R Melis) I am is studying the etiology of multimorbidity and disability. Since 2014, I have been collaborating with the University of Bordeaux, in France to investigate the risk factors leading to institutionalization. Recently I have started a collaboration with the Institute of Environmental Medicine, KI to explore whether physical environment, including air pollution, transport-related noise, and green space availability influence the onset of multimorbidity.

My research activity focuses on investigating the most relevant factors that lead to longer and healthier life. Using a life-course perspective I am exploring the role of health status, lifestyle factors, social environment, and genetic background on late-life health and survival.
Over the last years I have taught either as main instructor or as assistant in courses on epidemiology and statistical software for a variety of participants (undergraduate, master and doctoral level) for over 140 hours.
My main areas of competence and teaching are epidemiology of aging and statistical software.
Organizer of weekly research seminars at Aging Research Center (2014-2016).
Coordinator and teacher for the PhD course in geriatric epidemiologic at ARC (2015-present).
