About me
After having received my master in clinical psychology at Umeå University i have worked as a clinical psychologist various psychiatric clinics with the aim of helping individuals suffering from all types of psychiatric disorders both within Region Östergötland and Region Stockholm. However, since 2011 my main clinical focus has been on individuals with psychotic disorders.
Having received my psychotherapist diploma 2011 and specialist psychologist diploma in 2016 I wanted to learn more about how to help my patients even better. Therefore I went on to become a Ph.D-student. My research mainly focused on psychological treatment as well as cognitive disabilities in psychosis. I defended my theses named "Psychological Treatment and Facial Affect Recognition in Individuals with Psychosis" and received the degree of Ph.D 2024.
Given that I have always been interested in the training of others, I became a Director of studies at Region Stockholm 2014 where I have focused on the clinical internships both before and after the clinical psychology masters exam, as well as the continued learning of the licensed psychologists. In addition to this position, I also became involved in the training of psychotherapy at Karolinsk Institutet 2019. At Karolinska Institutet I am currently involved mainly in the training of psychotherapy both in the role of being a lecturer as well as course-coordinator and examiner.
Research
My research interest is in individuals with psychosis, and I investigate if they might be helped by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also investigate if psychiatric inpatient staff can be trained in ACT-techniques. Further, I am interested in the cognitive- and facial affect recognition abilities in individuals with psychosis.
Finally, I am interested in the field of education, especially in the planning and training of internships.
Teaching
I have been working at Centre for psychiatry research at Karolinska Institutet since 2019, where I have been involved in the training of several student categories from case-managers to medical doctors and psychotherapists about Cognitive Behavior Therapy. I am currently working as a lecturer, course coordinator, and examiner. My specialistarea is CBT for psychosis.
