About me
- Assistant Professor in Magnetoencephalography (MEG) and head of NatMEG (the
National Facility for Magnetoencephalography, https://natmeg.se/)
I am an electrical engineer by training. I did my PhD at Chalmers University
in Gothenburg, Sweden, where I developed an on-scalp magnetoencephalography
(MEG) system using high-Tc SQUID sensors and benchmarked it against the
conventional MEG system at KI – including the first epilepsy recording with
on-scalp MEG. After defending, I joined Professor Lauri Parkkonen’s
Neuroimaging Methods group at Aalto University, Finland, where I developed
novel optically pumped magnetometer (OPM) sensors for MEG.
Research
- My research focuses on developing on-scalp MEG using next-generation sensors.
In addition to developing hardware and methods for on-scalp MEG, I am
investigating academic (such as high-resolution imaging) and clinical
on-scalp MEG applications (such as epilepsy and brain computer interfaces for
patients with motor impairment).
