About me

  • I am Docent and Research Group Leader at the Centre for Psychiatry Research, Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet, and a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist at Psychiatry South Stockholm, Stockholm Health Care Services.

My research aims to improve the prevention and treatment of psychiatric disorders and problematic sexual behaviour through clinically relevant and scalable interventions. I lead research on pharmacological and digital psychological treatments, with a particular focus on individuals with a sexual interest in children and other populations at risk of sexual offending. In collaboration with other researchers, I am also engaged in clinical trials within the Swedish Prison and Probation Service and in studies evaluating interventions to improve the care of individuals affected by trauma within the Swedish National Board of Institutional Care and through digital health services.

My broader research interests include biological psychiatry, cognitive neuroscience, clinical psychopharmacology, and the development, evaluation, and implementation of novel psychiatric treatments. My work combines these perspectives with clinical trials, implementation science, and translational psychiatry to improve access to evidence based care and reduce the burden of mental illness and interpersonal violence.
