About me

  • *Christina Olsson – Associate Professor and lecturer at the Division of Physiotherapy, Department of NVS.* I gained my degree in Physiotherapy in Uppsala in 1985 and defended my thesis for a PhD in 2010. Title: “Lumbopelvic pain during and after pregnancy. Aspects on catastrophizing, fear-avoidance beliefs, physical ability and health-related quality of life”. Since September 2022 I am Associated Professor in Physiotherapy.

  • I have been working for more than 20 years as a physiotherapist in primary healthcare in Stockholm, Sweden. During that time I was also involved in the clinical education program for physiotherapy students and I worked as a lecturer at the physiotherapy education programme at Karolinska Institutet, mainly within the musculoskeletal area. In addition, I have been responsible for the work with professional development and continuing education for physiotherapists in primary healthcare in the Stockholm area. Furthermore, I have had assignments as an Interprofessional Coordinator of clinical education, continuing education and patient-oriented research (14 yrs) and Head of the Unit for Education (3 yrs) at Academic Primary Healthcare Centre, Region Stockholm.

Danderyd Academic Primary Healthcare Centre, where I was the interprofessional coordinator, was awarded the KLOK Award 2019 from the unit for Teaching and Learning at Karolinska Institutet. The aim of the award is to highlight good examples of units where there is good leadership and a well-organized care with learning in focus that promotes high quality education in clinical placements for KI's education programs.
