About me
I work in education and research within the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology. My research focuses on dried blood spots and other alternative matrices for use in Therapeutic Drug Monitoring. This includes developing liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) methods for analyzing alternative matrices.
I also hold a position as an adjunct clinical instructor for biomedical laboratory science students at KI. I am responsible for courses in the Biomedical Laboratory Science (BLS) undergraduate program as well as the master's program. Teaching, laboratory training, and active involvement with students and education are integral to my professional profile.
Research
My research focuses on "new sampling strategies in therapeutic drug monitoring." It explores the feasibility of performing drug concentration analyses using blood spots collected on filter paper, also known as dried blood spots (DBS). The goal is to determine whether self-sampling at home could be a viable alternative to traditional blood draws performed at clinics.
The title of my PhD project is "Dried Blood Spots: Possibilities as an Alternative Matrix in Therapeutic Drug Monitoring for Patient Care and Clinical Research."
This research is being conducted and implemented at the Läkemedelslaboratoriet, Department of Clinical Pharmacology, Karolinska University Hospital.
